Getting to Swanage

There are two ways to reach Swanage – by road via Wareham or by the Sandbanks car ferry which takes you across the mouth of Poole Harbour. 

By Road

Take the A350 Poole to Dorchester Road, and then the A351 to Wareham, through Corfe Castle and into Swanage.

By Ferry (Please confirm the ferry is running before your travel)

From Ringwood take the A338 to Bournemouth. Follow signs for beaches and Sandbanks to the Chain Ferry B3065/B3369. Once off the ferry follow the B3351 to Studland. Approximately ¾ mile out of the village, take the left fork to Swanage.

By Rail

The nearest Railway station is Wareham, there are connections to Swanage with the Wilts and Dorset Bus Company or Taxis are always available outside the station.

By Coach

National Express run a regular service to Bournemouth or Poole with connections to Swanage with the Wilts and Dorset Bus Company. There is a direct service to Swanage from London but this is only once a day arriving approximately at 10pm

By Air

Bournemouth International is the nearest Airport serving Swanage.
